When Sterling asked if we would be available to take her senior photos we were really excited. Aaron has been given the opportunity to shoot a few senior guys this year and he’s so good at it that I usually let him fly solo on those, but we haven’t had the opportunity to photograph a senior girl in a long time (I’m talking years!). 

Sterling was one of our co-workers when we worked at Chick-fil-A back in the day, so it was fun to catch up and hear what’s on the horizon for her. I know that when Aaron and I had our engagement shoot done, it was the first time I felt officially “engaged”. It was the first time I really felt like I was about to get married. The first time it felt real. I never had pretty senior photos taken in high school, but I imagine it has the same effect. The this-is-really-happening effect. 

We got to wander around Sterling’s grandparent’s farm and it was so beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for a better location, better light, or a better subject. I told Aaron the other day that I couldn’t stop looking at these portraits and he agreed- they’re some of our best work! 

Sterling, thank you for letting us capture this season for you and your family. Thanks for trusting us to capture it authentically. You’re beautiful and we had a great time hanging out and catching up!
