Once our spring season got started, it didn’t even think about slowing down. Engagement sessions, workshops, styled shoots, birthday parties, house projects, days at the coffee shop, and on and on and on. And now we are gearing up for our first wedding of the spring on Saturday and we couldn’t be more excited to jump into it!

As much fun as weddings are, we will never forget how special engagement sessions are to us and our business. When they first inquire with us, couples will sometimes ask if they can take the engagement session out of the collection to save their budget a bit. We always respond in the same way- engagement sessions are vital to the experience couples have with us. They’re a non-negotiable. Engagement session are our time get to know our brides and grooms and hear their stories and see their love in action. There’s no way to put a price on how precious those hours are. Not only do we get beautiful images of these sweet people that they’ll cherish for a lifetime, but we get to learn them and they get to learn us. We see how they interact together before the wedding day and and they see who we are and how we work before we show up in the bridal suite. It’s a major win-win!

Hannah and Dustin’s Charlottesville, Virginia engagement session was our first time meeting these two face-to-face and it was the perfect example of how much emails leave out! These two are the sweetest! We caught up with them at a friend’s beautiful property in Scottsville and wandered together for hours in the beautiful light. Dustin and Hannah laughed and snuggled and held hands and danced. They’re perfect together and we can’t wait to watch them say “I do” this fall!
