Lexington, Virginia is a photographer’s dream. There is a sweet little downtown area, beautiful college campuses (that’s right, more than one), historic areas, and beautiful mountain views only a few miles outside of town. We could shoot there again and again and never get bored! So when Jake and Ann asked if we’d come to their town for their engagement shoot a few weeks ago we were definitely up for a little road trip!
We met Jake and Ann for the first time barely more than a week before their big day and you could feel the excitement brewing. This spring, while beautiful, has had some of the most unpredictable weather of all time. So when the storm clouds started rolling in we thought we were going to get rained out- but with a wedding in 8 days rescheduling was out of the question. So we pressed on and before we knew it the clouds blew past and the day shined. It was so fun to experience the town through their eyes! Favorite restaurants, cute forgotten nooks and crannies, beloved mountain top views. Strolling, laughing, connecting… these two were so ready to be husband and wife.
We love hearing stories about our couples and getting to see their relationship before they walk down the aisle. Jake and Ann are so sweet and fun together and we knew their wedding was going to be one party we were sure to remember! Ann is part of the Irvine family, so it was a no-brainer to plan a wedding at House Mountain Inn/Irvine Estate. It’s BEAUTIFUL!
Jake and Ann, I am so excited to share your beautiful wedding day in just a few weeks! But in the meantime, enjoy some of our favorites from our double date in Lexington! We are still catching our breath from those stunning mountain views!
cheers!
