St. Paul’s Episcopal Church | Ivy, Virginia | Lydia + Chase

Lydia and Chase’s St. Paul’s Episcopal Church wedding in Ivy, Virginia was a beautiful and classy affair. When we heard that this sweet couple’s reception would be held in the church’s fellowship hall a space like this one never crossed our minds- in fact I don’t even know that we could have dreamed it up. What a stunning place to choose to start a new life together.
When we began this sweet little business of ours we had no idea how we would structure our calendar. We weren’t even engaged so we didn’t have dates like a wedding anniversary to celebrate yet. But when we booked Lydia and Chase’s wedding we did know that we would be photographing them the day before our first wedding anniversary. Our first anniversary weekend together. And we booked their wedding anyways. It’s hard for us to block off dates and weekends, especially for weddings, not because we are workaholics or because we are desperate for bookings, but because we sincerely love people. We love every single couple we have been blessed to work with. We see each inquiry as an opportunity. An opportunity to meet people. An opportunity to make friends. An opportunity to witness once-in-a-lifetime moments and capture once-in-a-lifetime memories. And we know it’s a gift so we haven’t once regretted the chance to celebrate with our couples.
So when Lydia and Chase asked us to capture their day we knew they were worth it. Definitely worth sharing our first anniversary weekend. Their day was perfectly elegant. A lovely end of summer- beginning of fall soiree. We even got the best little reminder of our own day when the new Mr. and Mrs. chose the same first dance song- You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne.
Lydia + Chase, thank you for sharing our anniversary weekend! Thank you for sharing your day with us. It was beautiful and we loved watching you become husband and wife. We hope you are having the best time on your honeymoon in Hawaii!! In the meantime, we are so excited to share some of our favorites from your day. Enjoy!!
cheers!
